The Harvard International Economics Essay Contest by the Harvard Undergraduate Economics Association

The Harvard International Economics Essay Contest (HIEEC), hosted by the Harvard Undergraduate Economics Association (HUEA), is an annual competition open to high school students globally. The 2024–2025 contest invites essays on four critical economic topics: carbon taxation vs. renewable energy subsidies, the implications of replacing income taxes with consumption taxes, the impact of automation on education and workforce, and the effects of digital currencies on monetary policy.
